9.26.2013 ~ painting autumn in frisco, colorado

Nothing like a few days of solitude in Colorado. My pup and I have been here at my brother's cabin in Frisco, napping (pup), working on updating/revising my website (moi), going for walks among the aspens (both), all interspersed with a little bit of painting (moi) and guarding said paintings (pup). I could easily camp out here until Thanksgiving, but the autumn colors of New Mexico are calling...

I kept my paint box permanently set up inside, beside the living room door, not far from where I was working on my computer. Then made a point to unplug each afternoon by 4:00 or 5:00, just when the light was getting to where I like it. Decided to use only very small panels — 5" x 7" so that I could complete a painting quickly, and not feel pressured to to have to finish something big.
