new mexico sky musing, no. 15 ~ my enchanted land
This — the latest of my New Mexico Sky Musings — doesn't have a link to my Etsy shop. That's because of the fifteen Sky Musings paintings I've completed and shared thus far, I've decided to keep this one for myself.
I love them all, of course, but there's something about this one that brings me particular joy. It combines so many of the elements that I respond to in the others: recognizable landscape forms combined with abstraction; an array of vivid, jewel-like colors; passages of calm balanced with areas of stormy energy; fragments of words; the suggestion of windows or portals. And I especially love the textures in the sky — and that cloud; if I didn't know any better I might have thought I'd used a palette knife. (I did not.)
I've many more New Mexico Sky Musings in the works — at least another dozen or so, all in various stages of completion. I'll get to them eventually. For now though my Folio focus will turn to some other recent paintings I've yet to reveal. More to come, soon.
