Although we're now into winter and a new year, I wanted to share one last autumn painting from last year. This is a beloved grove of cottonwoods at Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming. What a gift to be able to spend an entire October there as I did in 2014.

 

Trying to capture the autumn color — and especially the radiance of golden cottonwoods or aspens — is forever challenging for me. So I am particularly pleased with this painting: I think I nailed it.
