I've always viewed this painting as the companion to blessings swirling (see previous post). I'm kinda sorry I let this one go... But it's in a fine home in Utah where I know it is well loved, so I don't regret parting with it...too much. ;-)

Here's a question for you: What time of day is this — sunrise or sunset? Your choice. For me, it varies depending on what time of day I'm longing for. But for sure I'm channeling memories of a moist New Mexico summer, one where we're blessed with hearty monsoonal rains. That's what those wee passages of deep green conjure for me in the foreground. As I write this post New Mexico is exploding with fires — in April! Thanks to an unusual heatwave coupled with especially fierce spring winds, our fire season is whipping up a good month earlier than usual. There isn't a soul among us who isn't dreaming of rain, and the return of the color green to our landscape.
