Welcome Spring Rain could very well be a plein air painting from this spring 2023, for we have be blessed with springtime clouds and rain. Those are kind of rare out here. Spring in New Mexico usually means W I N D — which is why late spring is our dreaded fire season, as the wind sucks all of the moisture from the land. Just consider last spring, 2022, when New Mexico experienced our worst fires in our state's recorded history. Here in Santa Fe the only clouds in the sky from mid-April to mid-June were smoke clouds, and they were horrific.

But this spring is different. This spring we are seeing magnificent rain clouds, and I am nothing but gleeful at the sight of them!
